§ 2. Mr. Knox Cunningham
asked the Attorney-General what steps are being taken to consolidate the Merchant Shipping Acts, 1894 to 1958; and when such consolidating Measure is likely to be introduced.
§ Mr. Knox Cunningham
Does not my right hon. and learned Friend think that, since there have been over forty Amendments since the 1894 Act, a start should now be made to consolidate the law, or is one of the reasons for not doing so the fact that it is now almost impossible to define what is a British ship?
§ The Attorney-General
It would be very difficult indeed, if not impossible, to consolidate these Acts in view of the large amount of revision that would be required.
§ Mr. Ernest Davies
Can the Attorney-General state what progress is being made in the consolidation of the Road Traffic Acts, which very badly need consolidation?
