asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what payments have been made by His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom, and by other Governments to the Caribbean Commission and to the Caribbean Research Council; and in what currencies these payments were made.

§ Following is the reply:
§ His Majesty's Government have made the following contributions to the budget of the Caribbean Commission since it was formed in 1946:

§ The expenses of the Caribbean Research Council are paid from the Commission's budget, and no separate contributions are made in respect of it. His Majesty's Government's agreed pro- 942 portionate share of the Commission's budget is 34.3 per cent.; the United States contributes 38.4 per cent.; France 16 per cent.; Netherlands 11.3 per cent. His Majesty's Government's contribution is paid in Trinidad currency.
