§ 43. Mr. W. J. Brown
asked the Minister of Health if he will state the total number of dwellings in the London Civil Defence region which, as a result of the flying bomb attack were destroyed, or so badly damaged as to need demolition; seriously damaged and not habitable; seriously damaged but inhabited; and less seriously damaged, respectively.
§ Mr. Willink
The revised figures just received from local authorities indicate that the number of houses destroyed or damaged beyond repair is 25,511, the 412 number seriously damaged and not habitable 52,277, those seriously damaged but habitable 77,030, and those less seriously damaged 873,177.
§ Mr. W. J. Brown
Arising out of that reply, will the Minister be good enough to pass those figures to the Minister of Labour and ask him to revise the reply which he gave to my Question some time ago?
§ Mr. Thorne
Do these figures refer to the whole of the country? If so, the calculations are a long way out.
