§ 47. Mr. Mander
asked the Prime Minister when it is proposed to bring forward legislation to carry out the recommendations of the Select Committee on Offices of Profit under the Crown.
§ The Prime Minister
As my hon. Friend will be aware, legislation relating to Part II of the Select Committee's Report dealing with the present emergency has been before the House on two occasions and a further House of Commons (Temporary Provisions) Bill will shortly be introduced. With regard to Part I of the Committee's Report, namely, that part in which the 30 Committee made recommendations as to the proper principles on which future legislation for normal times of peace should be based, the Government do not at present feel themselves able to make any recommendations to the House.
