§ 51. Sir W. Smithers
asked the Prime Minister whether he will inform the House of the name and composition of the committee that examines inventions submitted for the three Services; and to what extent has any individual member the power to turn down inventions or to advise that they be taken up or developed?
§ The Prime Minister
I presume my hon. Friend is referring to the Engineering Advisory Committee under the chairmanship of my right hon. and Noble Friend Lord 2036 Hankey, the terms of reference and composition of which were published in the Press on 30th April last. In reply to the second part of the Question, individual members of the Committee are, of course, entitled to express their opinions to their colleagues.
