§ Sir John Wardlaw-Milne
(by Private Notice) asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has any statement to make regarding our relations with Thailand?
§ Mr. Butler
Yes, Sir. I am glad to be able to inform the House that a Pact of Non-Aggression was signed between Great Britain and Thailand at Bangkok this morning. His Majesty's Government warmly welcome this agreement as confirming the long-established friendly relations with the Government and people of Thailand and as introducing a further element of stability in South Eastern Asia. A similar treaty was signed at Bangkok to-day between the Governments of France and Thailand and a treaty of friendship between the Governments of Thailand and Japan was also signed to-day in Tokyo.
