§ 53. Mr. Messer
asked the Minister of Health whether he will refuse his consent to the merging of the Wooler and Belford relief districts of Northumberland, seeing that under it one relieving officer would be called upon to do the work previosuly done by two without any increase of salary and that, notwithstanding a two- 538 thirds increase in registrations, he would receive no registration fees?
§ Mr. Messer
Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that this amalgamation means that the officer in question has to work seven days a week; that he has to travel 100 miles; that he is the vaccination officer, the collector under the Lunacy Act, the inspector under the Children Act, and the registrar; and that he has suffered a reduction of salary?
