§ 31. Mr. Mander
asked the Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence, the position with regard to the preparation of provisional plans for the conscription of industry in war-time, referred to in paragraph 25 of the statement relating to the Report of the Royal Commission on the Private Manufacture of and Trading in Arms, 1935–36.
§ The Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence (Sir Thomas Inskip)
I would refer the hon. Member to the statement I 3512 made in the Debate in this House on 26th May, 1937. The preparation of the necessary plans is under continual consideration and steady progress is being made.
§ Mr. Mander
Am I not right in thinking that this is one of the recommendations of the Royal Commission which the Government enthusiastically accepted, and can we have a definite statement of progress when the House reassembles?
