§ 5.8 p.m.
§ The ATTORNEY-GENERAL
I beg to move, in page 118, line 38, to leave out "application or."
This Amendment is to leave out two words which are superfluous. The Clause deals with the appellate jurisdiction of the Federal Court in appeals from the High Courts, and for the purposes of an appeal the Clause provides that a High Court must certify that the case involves a substantial question of law as to application or interpretation of this Act. The first word "application" is, I suggest, 987 superfluous because the word "interpretation" sufficiently covers it. Therefore, to avoid any mistake, we propose to leave out this word.
