§ 34. Mr. MANDER
asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether it is proposed to ask the Economic Committee of the League of Nations to conduct the technical preparatory work that will be required in connection with, the World Economic Conference?
§ The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Eden)
No, Sir. We have not got as far as that yet. As has been frequently explained, the whole question is still in an entirely preliminary stage, and we still await the views of the other Governments who have been consulted.
§ Mr. MANDER
In view of the enormous importance of the preparatory work, if it is to succeed, will the hon. Gentleman give an assurance that it will be put in hand through the proper machinery at the earliest moment?
§ Mr. HANNON
Will the hon. Gentleman consider the advisability of calling in the hon. Member to help him in his difficulties?
§ Mr. D. GRENFELL
Having regard to the Prime Minister's very alarming statement on this question, is it not time that the Government made up their mind to expedite these proceedings?
