§ 10. Mr. TINKER
asked the Minister of Labour if she has given consideration to 1468 the question of reducing, or taking away altogether, the charge of 6d. which is made on young persons for the cost of a certificate of birth when they enter unemployment insurance, or will the Ministry accept the registry of birth certificate?
§ Miss BONDFIELD
Sixpence is a reduced charge which is fixed by Statute. It is not paid to my Department and I am afraid I could not agree to make it a charge on the Unemployment Fund. I have arranged that properly completed certificates of registry of birth which clearly identify the claimant may be accepted as evidence of age.
