§ 63. Mr. DAY
asked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been drawn to the number of road accidents which have recently happened to public service vehicles; and whether he will consider advising all local authorities to make it a condition of licensing public service vehicles that they are fitted with an equipment of first-aid outfits?
§ Mr. HERBERT MORRISON
I am not aware that there has been any noticeable increase in the number of accidents to public service vehicles. It might be regarded as unreasonable to make the carrying of first-aid outfits compulsory for all public service vehicles, as, for example, in the case of omnibuses in 428 large towns, and in any case the matter is one for consideration in connection with general legislation rather than with the conditions to be attached to licences.
§ Captain Sir WILLIAM BRASS
Will the hon. Gentleman consider the possibility of having safety glass in these public vehicles?
