asked the Secretary to the Treasury what is the 364 total amount of money received from 11th November, 1918, up to 31st March, 1927, by the Shipping Liquidation Department; what amount out of this total has been credited under miscellaneous receipts; what amount, if any, has been otherwise dealt with; and whether any further receipts are anticipated from this source?
§ Mr. McNEILL
The total gross receipts during this period were £444 millions. Of this sum £311 millions was appropriated under Parliamentary authority towards meeting the trading and other expenses involved in winding up the Ministry of Shipping and the Shipping Liquidation Department, and the balance of £133 millions was paid into the Exchequer as Miscellaneous Revenue. The further net receipts anticipated are about £200,000.
