§ 55. Major GEORGE DAVIES
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he can see his way to extend the qualifica- 239 tion for an old age pension to applicants who, being British subjects, have resided continuously in this country for 10 years and who, prior to that period, have been employed in Dominion Government service within the British Empire?
§ Mr. CHURCHILL
As at present advised I am not prepared to suggest an alteration of the statutory provision under which any periods spent outside this country in the service of the Crown may be treated as residence within the country for old age pension purposes, provided that the service is paid for out of moneys provided by the Imperial Parliament.
