§ 84. Sir ROBERT NEWMAN
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether any temporary women, receiving salaries of over £300 per annum, are still employed in Government Departments and, if so, in what Departments; whether the posts they fill will be abolished arid, if so, at what date; and, if not, why these posts were not filled by the recent competitive selection for higher clerical and higher executive women?
§ Mr. BALDWIN
A very few women, receiving salaries of over £300 per annum, are still temporarily employed in Government Departments, but, so far as I am aware, the posts occupied are either specialised or are not regarded as permanent and are, therefore, not appropriate to be filled from the recent competition for the executive and higher clerical class (women). I am not in a. position to give the precise dates at which it will be possible to abolish any of these posts.
