4. Sir J. D. REES
asked the Secretary of State for India if he can announce any further reductions in the fares charged for homeward passages from India, the present rates proving in many cases prohibitive for pubic servants and their families?
§ Mr. FISHER
I would refer the hon. Member to the answer which I gave on 12th March, in reply to the question on the same subject of the hon. and gallant Member for Melton.
Sir J. D. REES
Does my right hon. Friend know that the shipping conference at Calcutta has passed a resolution which would point to the whole matter being in the hands of the Shipping Controller and to the maintenance of existing rates?
