§ 23. Mr. T. RICHARDSON
asked the Home Secretary what is the scale of dietary for prisoners in Wandsworth and Maidstone Prisons, respectively?
§ Sir G. CAVE
I would refer the hon. Member to the answer given to the hon. Member for North Somerset on the 24th June. I do not think that it is desirable to publish the dietaries. They are carefully settled in consultation with the Food Controller, and are varied from time to time as circumstances require.
§ Mr. SPEAKER
The question on the Paper has nothing to do with Ireland. It is about Wandsworth and Maidstone Prisons.
§ Mr. KING
With due respect—[HON. MEMBERS: Order!"]—the Home Secretary referred in his reply to an answer to me; and my question related entirely to Irish prisoner's in English prisons, and, therefore, this supplementary question as to protests in Ireland arises out of the question on the Paper, and is perfectly in order.
