§ 74. Mr. HANCOCK
asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade whether he is aware that during a recent voyage of the "Kenilworth Castle," the passengers petitioned the captain urging him to institute a careful watch, as aliens were aboard; that the man whom they feared most and whose movements were suspicious was the Swedish consul; that a number of the crew were found to be Germans; that in addition to making a careful watch the captain handed firearms to at least one of the crew; and whether, in view of this, greater precautions will be taken for the purpose of excluding aliens, and thereby contributing to the safety and comfort of those on board?
Sir A. STANLEY
I have no information with regard to the matters referred to in the hon. Member's question, but I am making inquiries, and will communicate the result to him.
