§ 79. Mr. BOLAND
asked the Secretary for Scotland whether certain districts are being annexed to the municipal area of Glasgow, and, in consequence, the wards are to be rearranged for a general municipal election for all the wards in 1917; and whether, in view of the fact that the Irish Nationalist minority of 120,000 in the city is at present unrepresented by a single member in the Glasgow Town Council, steps will be taken in the rearrangement of the wards to secure that adequate representation will be given to this minority?
§ Mr. MUNRO
I am aware that the Glasgow Boundaries Act, 1912, makes provision for the redivision of the city into wards in 1917. Section 10 of the Act provides that the division is to be made by three Commissioners, one of whom is to be appointed by the Secretary for Scotland, and that before making the division the Commissioners are enjoined to hear all concerned for their interests.
