§ 76. Sir J. LONSDALE
asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware that, notwithstanding the assurance of the Midland Railway Company that the restrictions upon the forwarding of goods traffic to Belfast is only nominal, traders are still being refused facilities for the dispatch of goods, of which they are in urgent need, and that the Great Northern Railway Company are also refusing to accept goods for transit to Belfast; and if he will bring pressure to bear upon the companies concerned so as to ensure that the full service may be resumed without further delay?
If I am furnished with particulars of any consignments of goods for Belfast which either the Midland or the Great Northern Company has refused to accept, I will make immediate inquiries into the matter. As I informed the hon. Baronet in reply to his question of the 28th June, it is hoped that a resumption of the full service may shortly be arranged.
