§ 85. Mr. FARRELL
asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether any further steps have been taken by the Estates Commissioners for the purchase from the present owner of the lands of Ballymulvey for division amongst the people of Ballymahon; whether he is aware that two inspections and valuations of this property have been made; and can he indicate when the proposal to purchase these lands will be definitely made, having regard to the fact that the landlord, on his part, is willing to see the sale effected?
§ Mr. BIRRELL
The reply to the first part of the question is in the negative. The Estates Commissioners have intimated to the owner of the lands referred to the sum which they would be prepared to advance in guaranteed Three per Cent. Stock under the Irish Land Act, 1909, for purchase thereof if sold to them free and discharged from all occupation interests, and provided their requirements as to title and other matters were complied with, but the owner has not so far indicated his willingness to sell the lands to them as untenanted at that sum.
