§ 83. Mr. COOPER
asked the President of the Board of Trade if the Marine Department of the Board of Trade has required the "Olympic" to go into dock for extensive alterations to her construction as a result of the "Titanic" Inquiry; and, if so, why other abnormally large 530 vessels, like the "Lusitania, "are not equally required to be reconstructed?
§ The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. Buxton)
The alterations, which, as I understand, are about to be made to the "Olympic" are not in consequence of any requirement of the Board of Trade.
§ Mr. COOPER
May I ask the right lion. Gentleman if he will deny that there has been consultation between the Board o£ Trade and the designers of the "Olympic" on this matter?
