§ Mr. MACKARNESS (for Mr. O'Grady)
asked, in view of the statement made to this House by the Secretary of State on the 13th of May, 1907, that each half-year the Government of India reviewed the cases of persons detained under the Bengal Regulation No. III. of 1818, and considered whether the detention should be terminated, whether that course has been followed in the cases of the nine gentlemen deported from Bengal in December last; and what determination has been come to with regard to them?
The MASTER of ELIBANK
We have not heard the result of the Government of India's consideration of these cases.
