I beg to ask the Undersecretary of State for the Colonies if he is aware of the fact that, when in East Africa, the late Under-Secretary for the Colonies made a speech to the natives assuring them that sufficient land would be secured to them and their children's children for all time; and if such declaration expressed the views of His Majesty's Government.

Yes, Sir; the Answer to both Questions is in the affirmative, except that my right hon. friend informs me that the expression which he used was not "children's children," but "children."
