§ MR. FFRENCH (Wexford, S.)
To ask the Postmaster-General whether he has received a petition from the inhabitants of the electoral division of Templetown asking for a post office; and, as there are 1,000 inhabitants in that division and an area of 5,220 acres, will he inquire 289 into the matter with a view to giving better postal facilities to the people of Templetown.
(Answered by Lord Stanley.) An application was received last year from the residents of Templetown for a post office at that place, but it was found that, owing to the high cost of the existing service, the accommodation could not be afforded unless the residents were themselves prepared to bear the expense incurred. I will ascertain whether the circumstances are now more favourable, and will acquaint the hon. Member with the result of the inquiry.
