§ SIR THOMAS DEWAR
To ask the Secretary of State for War, having regard to the fact that Mr. J. Gibbs, of Cable Street, St. George's East, joined the 2nd Tower Hamlets Rifle Volunteers in 1881, and after upwards of twenty years service was transferred to the 1st City Imperial Yeomanry, in which force he still serves, can he see his way to grant Mr. Gibbs the long-service medal in recognition of this long period of service in the Auxiliary Forces.
1394 (Answered by Mr. Secretary Arnold-Forsler.) As regards the Imperial Yeomanry long-service medal Mr. Gibbs' service in this branch has not been sufficient to qualify him for the medal. As regards the Volunteer long-service medal there is no record at the War Office of any recommendation having been made by the proper authorities.
