§ MR. CHARLES CRAIG (Antrim, S.)
To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if his attention has been called to a meeting of the Royal University Graduates' Association, held in Belfast on the 18th instant, at which Dr. Leslie was unanimously seletled as the candidate whose claims should be brought before the Government for appointment to the vacancy on the Senate of the Royal University caused by the death of Dr. William McKeown; and whether, having regard to the fact that the Royal University Graduates' Association represents the opinions of a large proportion of the graduates of the Royal University and of the public in the North of Ireland, and that the late Dr. McKeown was the representative of this opinion in the Senate, the Government will appoint Dr. Leslie to the vacant seat to preserve the continuity of representation of this opinion.
(Answered by Mr. Wyndham.) Representations have been made in favour of the appointment of Dr. Leslie to fill the vacancy on the Senate caused by the death of Dr. McKeown. These will be considered by Government.
