§ MR. HAMMOND (Carlow)
To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether, seeing that an agreement has now been arrived at between Mr. D. W. Pack Beresford, D.L., and the majority of his tenants, for the sale to them of their holdings, he will recommend the Estates Commissioners not to sanction the sale of the estate without reserving the grazing land of 431 acres at Ballycrogue, now held on the eleven months system, which could be conveniently divided amongst, and sold to, the evicted tenants of the samee state.
(Answered by Mr. Wyndham.) The application for the sale of the estate, which does not include the lands referred to, is before the Commissioners, who will consider the cases of the evicted tenants. The matter will be dealt with by the Commissioners in conformity with practice and the provisions of the law.
