§ SIR J. LENG (Dundee)
I beg to ask the Postmaster General whether the precedent established at Her Majesty's 1059 Jubilee, whereby postmen were granted a day's holiday, to be taken as the exigencies of the Service permitted, can be followed on the occasion of the approaching Royal marriage, and the postmen granted a privilege always accorded to the major establishment of the Post Office and all the Government Offices?
§ MR. A. MORLEY
The consideration of this question raised by my hon. Friend depends upon whether the occasion referred to is proclaimed as a public holiday, as was the case at the Jubilee. I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply of the Prime Minister on the 9th instant.
