§ Order for Committee read.
§ THE FINANCIAL SECRETARY, WAR DEPARTMENT (Mr. BRODRICK) (Surrey, Guildford)
in moving that the Order be discharged and the Bill withdrawn, pointed out that the locality was in favour of the Bill; but that, owing to the opposition offered to the progress of the measure at this period of the 935 Session, it was impossible to proceed further with it now. He would suggest to the hon. Members who had Amendments on the Paper with reference to the stoppage of a certain footpath, they should confer with the people of the neighbourhood with the view of seeing whether it was not possible for them to withdraw their opposition to the Bill. If the footpath in question was not stopped up, it would be impossible to carry on a dangerous trade within a certain distance of it.
§ Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the Order for Committee be discharged, and Bill withdrawn."—(Mr. Brodrick.)
§ Motion agreed to.
§ Order discharged; Bill withdrawn.
§ House adjourned at ten minutes before Eleven o'clock.
