§ THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. W. H. SMITH) (Strand, Westminster)
said, he was under an engagement not to take the Bill on Friday. It might be done; but he promised the hon. Member to give good Notice of the day on which the Bill was proposed to be taken, with the view of concluding the Committee on the Bill. He hoped hon. Gentlemen who were interested in the meausure would confer with the Home Secretary with the view of decreasing the number of Amendments on the Bill, and so save the time of the House.
