§ MR. BIGGAR (Cavan, W.)
asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, If he is aware that in some cases in Ireland industrial schools are crippled for want of land to extend their usefulness; and, whether he can hold out any hope of legislation this Session to remedy the grievance?
§ THE CHIEF SECRETARY (Mr. JOHN MORLEY) (Newcastle-on-Tyne)
The Irish Government have had no representations on this subject. Of course, the hon. Member is well aware that many of the schools are already in possession of land; and I am not aware that there is in any case any necessity for legislation to enable them to acquire land.
