§ MR. WHATMAN
asked the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies, Whether he has any information how far the Intercolonial Railway from Quebec to Halifax is advanced, and when the whole 1949 of it will be opened for traffic under the British Guarantee of 1867; and, whether he has any objection to lay upon the Table the Correspondence which sanctioned the Canadian portion of the line in 1852?
§ MR. KNATCHBULL-HUGESSEN
, in reply, said, he had not the precise official information which he could wish as to how far this railway was advanced; but he believed he was correct in saying that it would be opened from one end to the other for the use of the public before the close of next year. If the hon. Member mentioned precisely what portions of the Correspondence he desired to see laid on the Table of the House, he would consider whether it could be done.
